Media: Stranger Things
Costume: The character at the start is wearing a white lab coat. This suggests to the audience that he is a scientist of some sort. The kids are wearing simple clothes which reflect on their young and innocence if that makes any sense.
Lighting: The lighting is dark and mysterious during Will's encounter with the Demogorgon because you can't see him, only the silhouette. It's also designed to create a nostalgic look as the series is set in the 1980s and makes good suspenseful moments. The show effectively creates a sense of tension as scenes are often moody, this can make the audience constantly feel on edge.
Setting: At the Wheeler's house, you can see that they are decently wealthy for their time (1980s) and the kids are playing Dungeons & Dragons in a comfortable basement. The audience would feel nostalgic as they view this scene even if they weren't alive to be part of the 80s, it has a feeling that you can't describe.
Props: The props used in the first D&D Scene involves dices, game pieces, soda cans, tons of paper, books, blankets and various other background objects. Will's shed is mainly used for storage but has a bunch of tools, crates and what appears to be a gun (specifically a Mossberg 144 LS)
Actor placement/movement/expression: (5:58) When the actor sees this otherworldly creature, he immediately registers fright and panic which causes him to tremble and go off course and crash his bicycle in the woods, his adrenaline kicks in and he sprints to his house. As Will enters his home, he is desperate for help and searches the house whilst breathing heavily. He attempts to evade the Demogorgon by going to the shed and grabbing a gun as defence, he is trembling which obviously indicates to the audience that he is frightened and alarmed.
