Language

1) Make two lists - one of website conventions used on Marcus Rashford and Kim Kardashian's official website and one of social media conventions found on their Instagram pages.

sites:
Rashford - high-quality images of Marcus Rashford in professional campaign settings + costume
Kim - promotion of products (e.g. SKIMS)

social media conventions:
Rashford - Instagram stories / tweets showcasing campaigns and recognitions
Kim - moments with family & children + content from events or production

2) How does Marcus Rashford's website and social media promote his brand? Give at least three examples of different pages / posts / images from his website or social media.

- Convergence on his website which links all of his social pages to the brand
- Images of football career and Man Utd reposts
- Logo on website and as profile image establishing an identity for his brand

3) How does Kim Kardashian's website and social media promote her brand? Give at least three examples of different pages / posts / images from her brand websites or social media. 

- On her insta, she has images of herself wearing or using her SKIMS products.
- Her website and social media are used to announce new product launches or collaborations, such as her SKKN by Kim skincare line or partnerships with major brands
- Kim shares behind-the-scenes footage, for example, she might post clips from a SKIMS photoshoot or the creation of a new product

4) How does Marcus Rashford's online presence use the narrative of his childhood upbringing to create a positive brand identity?

He often shares posts about his experiences growing up - making his efforts more authentic - he uses his social media platforms to help support social causes (free school meals for underprivileged children)

5) How does Kim Kardashian's website and social media promote other media products or websites using the Kardashian brand (e.g. Keeping Up With The Kardashians TV show)?

Posts that feature other family members, SKIMS collections featured in episodes, clips posted on social media from The Kardashians on Hulu

Representations

1) How does Marcus Rashford use different aspects of mise-en-scene (e.g. clothes/costume/settings/locations) to create representations of himself on his website and social media?

Rashford has over time shifted his identity leaning more towards his career as an athlete - he went from wearing a suit which symbolised his role beyond football, presenting him as a multitasking figure + it suggested maturity, authority and a leadership role.
Now the site frequently presents his casual, sporty football kits - bright, natural lighting is presented and there are mainly outdoor photos/videos now (positivity and approachability)

4)  What representation of celebrity is created by Kim Kardashian's website and social media? How are audience encouraged to view celebrity?

Her lavish lifestyle - Kim presents herself as success and sophistication encouraging audiences to view celebrities as individuals who embody success, influence, and luxury.

5) What gender stereotypes are reinforced or challenged in Kim Kardashian's online presence?

By posting about her children and family - Kim reinforces the stereotype that women should be primarily focused on nurturing and motherhood
